My friends list is a hilarious/awesome place sometimes. I should do this more often.

- [livejournal.com profile] mercuriazs has solved all of our fandom woes with the concept of wikicanon.

- [livejournal.com profile] stars_like_dust wrote a sequel to Stupid Thing Last Night in which she sort of remixes Benevolent Sibling and includes gratuitous Kat/Racetrack and it's hilarious and hot and full of pilots both old and new. YAY.

- [livejournal.com profile] marenfic wrote Kinesic, a deliciously bitter Dee-POV piece focusing on 'Unfinished Business'.

- [livejournal.com profile] blackboggart should be getting way more attention from HP fandom than she is, because I think her art is just gorgeous (she's on a Remus kick at the moment).

- [livejournal.com profile] emiloy did a Jack fanvid to Savin' Me, which, well, come on. It had to be done sooner or later, and although it could certainly have been done better, this chooses some interesting clips to include. (Okay, I especially like it because it uses 'Small Worlds' footage, and I loved that episode to tiny pieces.)

- I believe I first got this recipe from [livejournal.com profile] bantha_fodder, though I could be wrong...anyway, these are the best cookies in the world. (I use the word 'cookies' for soft, chewy things like the ones that Subway makes, and 'biscuits' for harder ones like gingernuts. That is just me. I embrace all Western food terms!) I am making a batch this afternoon )

Finally...thank you, everyone who commented on my last post, though I really was serious when I said I wanted to hear what you liked about you :) I won't be ungracious, however; I was in a low spot, and there's no remedy quite like feeling loved. Thanks.

Mood: better! (They're making a movie of Rent, thankyouthankyou [livejournal.com profile] minkhollow!)

I'm about to go off to bed, despite the fact that my darling [livejournal.com profile] darthrami, normally so efficient in her sisterly duty of thwarting timezones and making me get enough sleep, is blatantly encouraging the misuse of my last five days of break :D

However, I managed to work off some of my bad mood in the kitchen, and produced some impromptu muffins that I was quite proud of. I shall air my domestic icon and give you the recipe and 'impromptu muffins' really needs to be an LJ interest, don't you think?

Whatever I could find in the cupboard... )

This is what we made for dinner tonight, because we realised that we were going to get scurvy unless we started eating more vegies.

Quiche thing )

Well, today I cooked and cleaned and shopped and went to my lectures and my bio lab and did homework and HATED THE UNI WIRELESS SYSTEM OH SO BAD. I am so ready for this week to end. Bring on my Friday, world.

You know what I need? I need a DOMESTIC LIEK WO icon

Someone up there took exception to my existence today. The bus I was planning to catch home from the ANU was two minutes early; thus, when I was twenty metres from the bus stop, it sailed past merrily. I, being always up for a challenge, immediately set off for Civic on foot and managed to find the exact same bus at the interchange fifteen minutes later. I'm five metres behind the bus, and congratulating myself on such a quick walk. The bus? Moves off.

I had to console myself in the time before the next bus came by sitting in front of the Vertigo shelf in Impact Comics thumbing raptly through all the pretties, and then buying the first volume of Fables.

Fables? Rocks. So. Much. I love it. I'm calculating how many more volumes I can buy and still have enough to get a ticket to Sarah McLachlan's gig in March (Butterfly Boucher is the supporting act! *squees*). I am also in love with both Bigby and Snow. H'rah me.

Sunburn from continuous walking in the sun rocks not quite so much >.<

And speaking of being one for a challenge, I'm currently taking drabble requests over at the ficblog to work on after my gift fics are done. Hop on over.

And now, because I am a caring sharing cooking geek, the rough recipe for what I made for dinner tonight. Because damn was it delicious.

It's Indonesian, but I can't recall the name. )

[I kind of like this idea; I often find or develop recipes for good munchies, and I like sharing. It's also good practice for me, being three nights away from domestic independence. However:]
