(no subject)

Updating from LA! We spent eight hours in the car yesterday finding our way from SF to LA and by 'finding', I mean 'Caleb drove', 'Ji slept' and 'I wrestled somewhat successfully with maps'. I'm counting it as a win that I managed to get us there in the end, even if we did end up in Small Town Asscrack Of Nowhere at one point.

We dropped in to see fryadvocate, who had made us pasta and two salads and strawberry dessert cakes, and we all sat around outside talking about M'ways and fandom and writing and all sorts of things. Fry is awesome :) And I got sunburned because the sun kept moving and I kept inching my way back into the shade just a little too late.

We're now staying with schiarire's aunt and uncle, and about to shower and head off to find somewhere for breakfast. True to my expectations, I am eating huge amounts of delicious but not-so-healthy food.

What else? So far I've bought Rent and QaF S3 on DVD, and Slaughterhouse Five and Cryptonomicon. Books are so cheap here! So! Cheap!
