quick life update
21 Feb 2012 10:18 pm- Work! Work is always stressful but usually interesting and sometimes fun. And most of the people who work in hospitals are pretty great. Some of the best twenty-second bursts in my day are the conversations I have with random people in lifts. (I spend so much of my day in lifts.)
- Accomplished last night: plums stewed in port, sugar, cinnamon and cardamon. YES. Delicious.
- I finished Bones S6. Oh, show. BRING ON THE ABSURD PREGNANCY PLOT. YES. GIMME.
- I'm going to Sydney this weekend for
ryokophoenix's birthday, it will be epic <3
- Reading: REAMDE by Neal Stephenson, A Writer's Diary by Virginia Woolf, The Spirit Catches You And You Fall Down by Anne Fadiman, London: the Biography by Peter Ackroyd, and also the collected poems of T.S. Eliot. My attention span is not too crash hot at the moment.
- Writing: two Sherlock fics, neither of which is much inclined to progress at the moment. I tend to need some time to settle into a writing session, and it seems like I barely get home, eat dinner, catch up on the internet, have a bath -- before it's pretty much time for bed. Weekends are better, but weekends are now the time for EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD NOT WORK, so they get full and busy very fast.
