we are young supernovas
12 May 2011 10:20 pmTriumphant return to Sydney yesterday! So far I have had:
a) pad see euw
b) roti canai & pandang chicken & crispy tofu & sago gulag milaca
c) spicy beef rolls from Breadtop
d) PROPER COFFEE from Luxe bakery
e) cocktails
Tomorrow: chilli crab curry and more roti at Kammadenhu with
highlyeccentric.
I spent half the day walking happily to USyd and then to Broadway shopping centre (for emergency sunscreen & cosmetics purposes: do not pack for a 1.5 week trip when you are crazed with studying for your paediatrics exam, you will forget MANY THINGS) and then all the way through the city centre to the enormous new Westfield. By the time I got there I was pretty tired, so my entire dazed impression of it was: SHINY. So many mirrors. So many high-high-end designer stores. So many people in the foodcourt. (I was hoping to add macarons to my food list, but the queue was ridiculous.)
I stumbled out again, caught a bus back to the uni, and spent the afternoon reading Shakespeare in the library :)
Then there was dinner & drinks & much lusting over clothes in the King Street boutiques with the lovely
_leareth. Late shopping on Thursday nights <3 People everywhere.
Frivolous spending was kept to a strict minimum, and by strict minimum I mean: the three Face of Australia Molten Metallics nail polishes I have been waiting to buy for MONTHS, and two books at a secondhand stall.
SYDNEY. I HAVE MISSED YOU SO MUCH. Sorry I'm only here for a few days.
(And now I'm winding down reading a Michael Cunningham book and listening to the latest Mountain Goats album, which I am obsessed with; it is so fucking awesome.)
