back from Sydney
27 Feb 2011 07:44 pmYes, I was in Sydney! Blink and you would have missed it. I wore a wig and failed to catch sight of David Hewlett. I also made an earnest attempt at eating my body weight in Thai food and now all I can think about is how long it is going to be before I can have some more.
I returned to the news that the pesky carbohydrate-consuming moths that plague our pantry have apparently evolved the skill of teleportation, because we have started finding them inside nominally sealed containers and tied-up plastic bags. Creepy. I suppose the best we can hope for is the inadvertent ingestion of one and subsequent development of superpowers?
Also! The Big Bang Theory is one of the (very) few TV shows I have made a dedicated effort to keep up with over the years, and I have this to say about it: I really like that it now has three prominently featured and utterly awesome female characters. The initial huge male predominance of the show was one of the few things I disliked about it. Plus, Amy Farrah Fowler is my fucking HERO. I love every single second that she is on screen, I love the conversations she has with Sheldon, I love her attempts to pair-bond with Penny.
Tomorrow is another day of surgery starting at 7:45am and going until...well, some ghastly hour, in theory, but it will probably end whenever my back hijacks my mouth to mumble, okay, Prof, I think I'm going to call it a day.
