Being at home is amazing! So far today I have done sweet, sweet bugger all. Earlier I had a bath with a glass of Riesling and Audrey Niffenegger's latest book,
Her Fearful Symmetry, which is full of ghosts and cemeteries and twins and rare books and is making me look forward more than ever to next January*, when I plan to spend all of my weekends exploring corners of London other than those within walking distance of the Holborn tube station.
Now I'm watching the Ian McKellen
Richard III, starring
everyone you've ever heard of, including a rather unexpected Robert Downey Jr. as Lord Rivers. Shakespeare sounds bizarre in his mouth; luckily, he mostly lounges around the set looking pretty.
*Yes! I've been accepted by The London Hospital for a month-long elective in psychiatry, so I will be packing my warm clothes and kicking around the West End and also plotting fannish deviousness with
lizardspots.
This time I also fully intend to make it to Oxford for a few days to see a friend and wander around the campus, if anyone there located wishes to see me :)
