Speaking of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo: we currently have hordes of the performers staying at College, including the delegation from the Moscow Military Conservatoire. This afternoon a few of them decided to play with the giant chess set (ah, Russians) in the courtyard. Shirtless. I only HAPPENED TO NOTICE THIS because I was doing my surgical reading in the courtyard tute rooms, you understand.
And then one of them was determined to show me that he could say 'good morning' (at 3pm) and 'how are you?' and then, once we'd determined that his English stopped there, dragged his marginally more fluent friend over to translate some earnest questions about why was I studying so early in the year? and how long was my medical course? and were there maybe any Russian girls around the college? (ah, boys)
~
First week of third year and I'm already breaking my no-work-on-Friday-nights rule in order to make a dent in my workload. What a great omen that is.
Bribing myself with the prospect of watching Stardust :)
