finding the good
27 Nov 2009 01:26 pmBlah blah losing willpower required to not stab own eyes with forks in lieu of More Fucking Study, blah blah, BUT what is awesome is that I'm studying in a discussion room just off the library, with the sliding door open into the sunny courtyard, and just outside the door is a table on which morning/afternoon tea gets set up for the conference group meeting in the library. So I can duck out regularly and fill my mug up with free, hot, glorious filter coffee! COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE. My days may not be interesting, but they're certainly well caffeinated.
This morning I slathered myself up, braved the sun, and walked to Broadway to buy essentials, and by essentials I mostly mean chocolate. Coles has completely changed! It's all spacious and confusing and pretty! I wandered the aisles bemusedly for a while until I'd tracked down most of the things on my list, feeling like a tourist.
And then I got home to find that my fridge (you know, the one that freezes milk in winter) has decided to get into the summer spirit and obligingly defrost itself. So water drips out whenever I open the door, and I have no real faith in its ability to keep my drinks cold any more.

So yes. Life is hot and slow and full of neurology notes, and coffee, and my PILOTS playlist <3 It could be worse. I certainly don't feel the usual amount of envy at Turkey Holidayers on the other side of the Pacific, because in this heat, enormous amounts of hot food is the last thing I feel like.
