sunburnt country is about right

It's already far too hot for my liking here in Sydney, and this afternoon I'm going home, where it will apparently be 38. FANTASTIC. FAN. TAS. TIC. Once again I face the choice of (a) slathering myself in sunscreen and having my skin break out in oily agony, (b) burning as soon as I spend >5 minutes outside, or (c) wearing clothing that covers my shoulders despite the fact that it's really, really too warm for that.
(Usually I choose (d) Remain Inside With The Air Conditioning, and everyone thinks I'm mad for not taking advantage of the wonderful weather.)
How many years before I can move to England and escape this ridiculous climate?
I suppose it could be worse. Most of inland NSW is on 'extreme' bushfire warning because temperatures are expected to reach 42. Which is about 108 Farenheit.
