here we are now

I realise I haven't really been much of a Presence on LJ or chat (get used to it, I guess?) but I'm saving up my orientation week experiences for a post on asclepiad this weekend. This journal will continue to be little personal events and fannish goods, as ever, but I'm moving my serious Med School Blogging to a different location so that a) I have everything centralised, and b) you can avoid it if you're just here for the fandom stuff.

Speaking of fandom: I have recently completed the mammoth task of watching all of the Naruto anime & reading all of the manga (so far released. there's a lot to go. this thing is IMMENSE.) and -- unsurprisingly, I suppose? -- it just keeps getting better and better and more complex and clever. And by the time you've struggled through the uneven pacing and the poor animation of the first part, and have worked your way through to the glory of Shippuuden, you've been with the characters for so damn long that it's impossible not to be very, very emotionally invested <33333 I am kicking away at a fic for ryokophoenix's birthday while I still have free time to call my own.

I am coping gallantly with having no telly. Sniff sniff.

End of orientation, thank fucking GOD. I have been oriented to within an inch of my life. If one more person tries to orient me to anything, anywhere, I will punch them in the face.

Tonight I'm going to have dinner in Newtown with a few other college girls, organise the enormous piles of paper which I seem to have accumulated over the past three days, maybe write some fic, and then try to sleep for as long as possible. Because tomorrow: CLASSES BEGIN.

Nobody can appreciate how awesome an icon this is. But I don't really care.

Wait, can we do that thing where you ask me about my icons? Most of them have changed since last time! Now with keywords & comments guaranteed 80% more obscure and geeky! I am quite happy to wax enthusiastic about anything you don't recognise.

In the absence of anybody to make tea for (this is why you should all come and VISIT me, people) I am going to make myself apple & cinnamon tisane in one of my beautiful new Turkish tea glasses. And then attempt to write.
