It's me, I'm back, etc. Nobody is to mention any of my TV shows to my face, as I am going nuts with frustration at my current 3kb/s download speed. I have missed two episodes of Torchwood, one of BSG, one of Grey's, two of The Office and half a dozen of House. ARGH.

Queensland was very relaxing. As usual I spent hundreds of dollars on food and not all that much on other things - my material purchases were limited to two secondhand books (Temeraire, the basic message of which is that the Napoleonic Wars would have been SO MUCH COOLER WITH DRAGONS, and Wild Ducks Flying Backwards, a collection of shorts by Tom Robbins), the second season of Deadwood and two dresses - one cheap casual-ish one, and one expensive-but-gorgeous thing in royal blue.

I also wrote a whole pile of fandom sonnets, so I'll make a post of those once I've sorted out dinner. There is not much in the way of food in our apartment.

And now for the important thing: what have I missed, apart from all that TV? Do I need to read anything? Leave an address for Xmas cards anywhere? Provide an opinion on something? Has Milliways exploded?

SITREP, FLIST.

A couple of months ago I was on a Shakespeare kick and offered to write fandom-sonnets for people. While in Mooloolaba I finished almost all of them, so this is going to be a long long post of personalised iambic pentameter. YAY. Huge apologies to [livejournal.com profile] genarti and [livejournal.com profile] madbonnycaptain, the only two whose requests I haven't filled yet. I'll get there! (Though, Beth, if you'd like to request someone other than Lear, I'll get there...sooner. I've only read the play once. Um. Some other fandom, maybe? I am slightly Shakespeared-out.)

Comments on your own sonnet and/or anyone else's would be appreciated. I've never written this many poems in such a short time before and I'm still leery of the quality. Most of them are second-person because apparently I am incapable of writing any other POV at the moment.

I'll kick off with the original sonnet that started the idea, too.

12 sonnets in all )
