1) While he doesn't have to love someone to have sex with them, he does have to LIKE them.
2) He never thought of himself as a violent person Before Thom, but After Thom, it proves somewhat difficult to switch off. But he does respect people's boundaries, and Mel's are firmly delineated. Thom didn't seem to HAVE any, so things had a tendency to escalate. As Henry would know :D
