& a songmeme

I'll do this when I get home this afternoon:

Comment below with a song request that you think I'd be able to provide, something like 'a song that reminds you of someplace you went on holiday when you were little' or 'a song that never fails to give you the shivers when you listen to it' or 'a song in a language you don't speak but would like to learn'.

Can I request your Lucifer playlist instead?
ext_21673: ([rp] lucifer - vanity indulged)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2007-05-28 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Um...I don't actually have one.

*FAILS*

[identity profile] schiarire.livejournal.com 2007-05-28 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Then I want a song that reminds you of Lucifer that you haven't made me listen to before!

The meme triumphs.

UUUUM.

Evermore - Morning Star (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WYPBGXCO)

Mostly for title merit, but the sound is suitable too. (My suitable sound is actually very...calm.)

. . . interesting. Por que?

DOES THAT MEAN 'FOR WHAT' OR 'WHY' OR SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY? JE NE SPANISH PAS.
ext_12491: (Brain)

[identity profile] schiarire.livejournal.com 2007-05-28 07:17 am (UTC)(link)
For what does mean why! errr.

It's exactly the same as 'pourquoi' . . .
ext_21673: ([tw] tosh - half full of liquid enigma)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2007-05-28 07:28 am (UTC)(link)
Not necessarily! If it was 'for what' then you could have been asking 'what is it a suitable sound for?' (Unlikely. But. You see?) I did think it was most likely the same as pourquoi, but IT IS BEST TO CHECK. YOU AND YOUR SPANISH.

Why? I don't know if I could isolate a reason. I always need calm music to write anything to - anything too heavy and the rhythm/words intrude on the rhythm/words I'm producing. And the Lucifer-mindset is very calm. It needs to be quiet and precise and with room to read people in.

[livejournal.com profile] crazythorn and I converse(d) almost entirely in Spanglish :( It gets hard to shake.

That is a good point. Most Thom songs are impossible (for me) to write to.

Give me a song that reminds you of neuroscience. :D

WHAT. Okay. This is probably as good as I can do:

Aimee Mann - The Scientist (live) (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KBIG7YAG)

[identity profile] not-in-denial.livejournal.com 2007-05-28 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
Give me a song that boosts your self-esteem, or gives the impression of confidence...or something along those lines.

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2007-05-28 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, man, I have a whole playlist of those! It gets a lot of airtime. But this is one of my favourites:

Queen - Don't Stop Me Now (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RD7DVRV1)

[identity profile] littledust.livejournal.com 2007-05-28 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
A song that makes you bawl your eyes out and not mind because it's just that damn beautiful.

...we're still talking about ME here, right?

:D

A song that makes me feel like crying, then:

Snow Patrol - Run (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=J1PG6Z3Q)

[identity profile] littledust.livejournal.com 2007-05-28 10:01 am (UTC)(link)
Hurr, I totally remember that not everyone has my emotional reactions. Really.

Hooray Snow Patrol!

[identity profile] bantha-fodder.livejournal.com 2007-05-28 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
a song that fills you with glee.
ext_21673: ([other] rachel - feeling a little noir)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2007-05-28 10:17 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, easy one.

Missy Higgins - Peachy (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NAXB2556)

Granted, the lyrics are completely NON-GLEEFUL. But the song itself is so upbeat and lovely, and it's my favourite song from Missy's new album, which I was SO EXCITED ABOUT. So. Glee.

I AM SO IN LOVE WITH HER NEW ALBUM, but especially this song.

YES. I am also very fond of 'Sugarcane' and '100 Round The Bends'.

[identity profile] bantha-fodder.livejournal.com 2007-05-28 11:19 am (UTC)(link)
I would be more fond of 'Sugarcane' if it didn't keep getting stuck in my head.

A song that gives you the creeps.

Yes, I'm starting a collection. :D?
skygiants: Princess Tutu, facing darkness with a green light in the distance (teach me to hear mermaids)

A song of eerie melodicness and lyrics that give you chills but you can't get out of your head?
