"Isn't it wonderful? It's my birthday gift, to me!"

And my graduation present, and my 83% overall mark in final exams present, and my -- transparently guilt-assuaging -- next year I will have a reasonable salary present.

The thing to know about me is that normally I avoid Alannah Hill like the plague, given that 99% of it is frilly and foofy and little-girly and covered in bows and hearts and flowers and sequins. To walk into those shops is to wonder if at any moment Hello Kitty might leap out from behind a rack of uniformly ghastly cardigans and maul you to death.

But that remaining 1%, man, I will fall for it every time. This cost basically as much money as I have ever spent on a single item of clothing and I don't care because I am in love, floral pattern and sparkly buttons and all.

As a general rule, I don't wear A-line skirts, so that rules out most of Alannah Hill's bottoms. This is the cardigan (http://pics.livejournal.com/the_grynne/pic/006dzc69) I'm talking about (more here (http://the-grynne.livejournal.com/768956.html#cutid2)), and even though I rare wear it - it's dry clean only - I find it adorable, in a good way.

A-lines are pretty much the only thing that will reliably fit me; anything else tends to not be tight enough around the waist, or way TOO tight around the hips.

Oh, I like it! Well, I doubt I'd wear it because I am allergic to pastel colours, but I love the button trim.
