blissss

My family has a Saturday lunch tradition of delicious deli things: crusty Italian bread, pâté , proscuitto, semi-sundried tomatoes, olives, hard and soft cheeses. Saturday lunch, when home in Canberra, is the highlight of my week.

I've been feeling simultaneously homesick for both Canberra & Sydney -- it has been an unprecedentedly long time since I had real Thai food and the cravings are STRONG -- so during my grocery-buying trip today I splurged on Maggie Beer Pheasant Farm Pâté (on sale!) and King Island Dairy double brie (sadly not on sale). And then I stuffed a sandwich with them.

TASTE OF HOME. IN MY MOUTH <3

What tastes like home to you?

Oh YUM. That totally tastes of home to me, as well, only it was my best friend's house gorwing up since I pratically lived there and they were verra Italian. My mother wasn't a big one for cooking anything other than the 5 things she could do well. But when I want to feel all warm and cuddly and home I always make the sauce/pasta dishes I learned at my best friend's mother's elbow.
