welcome home

Because the perfect way for the universe to say HOLIDAY'S OVER is for my iMac to die. MACS ARE WONDERFUL, they said. MACS NEVER HAVE PROBLEMS.

Uh huh.

Thankfully, I can get by academically by using my laptop, but it does mean I can't access any of my previous notes or documents, and I can't use the internet in my room. Because the campus wireless doesn't extend to the Maples building.

As you may imagine, I am in a rather shitty mood right now.

Yeah. I surfed forums endlessly and changed some things that seemed to improve the kernel panic situation, so I thought I'd fixed it, but this evening it worked for all of ten minutes before crashing and refusing to reboot without REcrashing.

It is still under warranty, yeah. But if the hard drive is screwed then I am going to lose a lot of data due to not being able to afford a new external drive for backup! NOT HAPPY.

kernel pacnic inducers may not be dead hard drive related at all. it's often software related. don't worry yet!
