I think I need a nap
You know how sometimes people on your friends list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.
Please copy mine below, erase my answers putting yours in their place then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration! One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out

1. First Name: Some of you know my first name, but as it's quite uncommon I try not to fling about the internet with gay abandon. Besides, I've gone by 'Fahye' for over five years now, and it's easy to remember, and I answer to it just as readily even IRL :)
2. Age: 21. I am not sure how I feel about the imminent prospect of being older than 21. It was always the last significant birthday I could really conceptualise, and while I am probably going to quite enjoy being a twenty-something...gah. Weird thought.
3. Location: Sydney. I have spent most of my life in Canberra, long enough to go from liking it to being sick of it to really liking it again, so my move this year wasn't about escaping anything, it was about being prepared to try something new; this is why I'll probably apply to spend a year of my degree in rural NSW, too. I like Sydney a lot so far, and I think the few hang-ups I have about large cities are to do with the fact that I haven't got any money: all very well to be surrounded by wonderful plays and restaurants and things, but the fact remains that I can't afford to go to them, and my level of nighttime activity is restricted by the fact that taxis are too expensive.
4. Occupation: I am a medical student, which is possibly one of the most crazily full-time courses it is possible to do. I do a few hours of work as the college student librarian whenever anyone needs me to take their shift. Library work suits my personality and is HIGHLY SOOTHING.
5. Partner: Nope. Never had one, and finding one isn't exactly a priority right now. I'm not very romantic and I'm not attracted to many people and while sometimes I really like the idea of being in a relationship, for the most part my life doesn't feel like it's missing anything.
6. Kids: I'm not sure. Most of my life I've been pretty apathetic about the whole idea, but I'm starting to think that I might like to have some, at some stage. Even if I'm single. If I decide I want to, then I'll find a way to make it work. But I'm not thinking about that at THIS stage!
7. Brothers/Sisters: I'm the oldest -- I have a brother who's eighteen and in his first year of Arts/Law at ANU, and a sister who's fourteen and in Year 9. My brother and I get along very well because we have very similar tastes in TV and films; I got him into Buffy and Firefly and BSG and a lot of British comedies. We don't talk very much (he doesn't talk to his family much AT ALL) and we're not CLOSE, but we're good friends. I love my little sister enormously and am currently throwing lots of good formative books at her. Next time I go home I'm hoping to sit down and watch Avatar with her, because I know she'll love it.
8. Pets: My family has a cat called Tasha (or, thanks to my brother, 'Pookie'); she is a gorgeous medium-hair cat who likes crawling into very small bags, curling up on anything made of polarfleece, and bringing us headless pigeons as an expression of love.
9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life:
1) MED SCHOOL. It just. It eats everything, including the forseeable future. It's huge and frightening and kind of wonderful and I spend a great deal of time feeling exactly like Addison looks in this icon.
2) Med revue! Which is not enormous now but will become so very soon. I'm on the executive production team and one of three choreographers, and will probably be helping manage the costuming as well. I fully expect it to consume my soul. Ought to be fun!
3) The trip to Europe that

4) & 5) & onwards unto infinity: MED SCHOOL AGAIN
10. Parents: Er...still alive, still married? They met in medical school and I think my mother had to pretty much whack my father with a plank and then snog him before he worked out that she was interested. They complement each other well. She's a part-time GP who, like me, is prone to getting fed up with things not being organised properly and thus getting sucked in to organising them for other people (my sister is even worse, though: I am midway between my mother's neuroses and my father's laissez-faire, whereas my siblings seem to have inherited them directly, one each). My father is an orthopedic surgeon and also the director of surgery at his hospital, and also on a million committees and boards and things. He travels to teach at conferences a lot and I think he really enjoys the teaching & administrative side of his work, even though he still operates occasionally.
11. Who are some of your closest friends? My three closest RL friends are ALL currently doing Honours in psychology at ANU (I BROKE THE MOULD) and I miss them horribly, but I am slowly making some good friends here too, both at college and in my course. And then there are

I say North American because I'm half Canadian and a quick and easy way to piss off a Canadian is to assume they're American.
