See, I'm trying to come up with something that isn't choral, and failing.

Okay: I like Lloyd Webber's 'Pie Jesu' for an artistic minimalist scene, and Dar William's 'Alleluia (http://www.lyricsdownload.com/dar-williams-alleluia-lyrics.html)' -- which isn't classical AT ALL -- for your more Hokuto moments.
