Soundtrack My Life! (a meme)

Inspired by [livejournal.com profile] villainny, made up by [livejournal.com profile] schiarire, hosted here.

If you were soundtracking my life, what kind of musical accompaniment would you suggest?

To request a soundtrack: comment below with your name, under the appropriate heading, and then link to your comment in your LJ so that your friends can come and suggest things. (Please PUT YOUR LJ NAME AS THE SUBJECT OF YOUR COMMENT, for ease of browsing the meme.)

To suggest songs: find people you know and give them your suggestions! Links to uploaded tracks are welcome but not compulsory.

Feel free to be as structured as you please: suggest the credits song, the Epic Love Story song, or the song for that uplifting moment at the film's emotional climax. Or just throw in anything that you think suits that person's life.

PIMP FAR, PIMP WIDE.

Well, I have always always associated Joseph Arthur with you, so I am going to name 'In The Sun' as a song for the times when you venture out alone, in a coat and a beret and cold weather, thinking large strange thoughts.

'Unbreakable' by Evermore is your triumph song.

Others:

Wir sind Helden -- The Geek Shall Inherit
Karl Jenkins -- Cantilena
Carla Bruno -- Le Toi du Moi

(This is a very odd film, this biopic I am soundtracking. I imagine it as being very nonlinear and colourful.)

Hmmm. I can't think of any songs right now, but I do know that Yo-Yo Ma plays the cello for the instrumental bits. Possibly whilst you are doing cultural things - great monuments, reverential museums, poky '_____ Lived Here' - on your Grand Travels.

'La Mer'. You are by the sea. It is kind of grey and windy, but you are undeterred! You stroll along the low wall between boardwalk and beach, listening to your iPod. Suddenly, the dulcet tones of Charles Trenet begin serenading you from your earbuds. The song is so delightful that, unable to resist, you start dancing (dorkily but charmingly) along the wall. Donkey-rides guy and his donkey look on in bemusement.

In this scene, you are wearing very cute socks.

I really want to add some Peter Gabriel in there, but I'm confused as to where the songs that jump out at me would fit in-- 'San Jacinto' (http://youtube.com/watch?v=9J0yppewrvg) and 'I Have the Touch', both off of his Security record.

I feel like Sufjan Stevens makes at least a cameo ... but he might get beaten up by The Mountain Goats.

Um, for those moments when a Time Lord has transported you back to the French Revolution and you are watching the National Assembly debate after dark in a closed smoky room, and then you burst out into the snow-drenched Paris night thinking of how the people whose hands you've shaken will die horribly before the year is out, but it will be beautiful and they will not be afraid...

You know, for those moments, it's totes James Newton Howard's Restoration soundtrack all the way.

(But clown car music for when you watch Saint-Just throw his hat in the fire.)
