[livejournal.com profile] copinggoggles and her anal HTML formatting have struck again! Go forth and spread the joy at her meticulously organised LOVE MEME.

At this stage I think I may as well just make a little voodoo doll and label it 'Microsoft PowerPoint' and then spend an hour sticking pins into it before smashing it with a hammer, because that is exactly how productive the hour I spent working on Friday's presentation earlier today has turned out to be, and also it would make me feel much better.

What's that, PowerPoint? No, of course I have enough time to start my presentation again from scratch. No problem. Excuse me while I go and fetch some more pins.

Today I had a true Martha Jones moment and learned THE BONES OF THE HAND. Turns out they're not actually all that bad: it's the tendons that are real bitches.

I usually find it easiest to attempt an English equivalent ("I was forgetting to nominate fandoms" or "I used to forget to nominate fandoms" vs. "I forgot to nominate fandoms") and see which sounds less like crazy moon talk.

Of course!

The ONLY example I remember from Year 10 French is hiring bicycles while on holidays.

On a loué des vélos = we hired them once
On louait des vélos = we hired them on more than one occasion/every day

Which, thinking about it, 'we used to hire bicycles' sounds fairly unmoonlike.

*strokes poor neglected grammar book* One day I will have time to get past passé composé!
