meme!

In between researching the incubation period of the myxomatosis virus and slinging around words like 'immunofluorescence' and 'epizootic' (I am pretending to be Toby Zeigler, in the hopes that adopting a workaholic mindset will partially negate my own workaphobia. also I can pretend that I am writing a vitally important report for the President):

Comment with 3 interests from my list, and/or 3 of my icons, and I will explain them to you.

This extends to explanations of icon keywords/comments, too.

That's all I got.

Hoo boy. Long story. Way back when I was still settling into my new friendship group (because I changed friendship groups at the end of Year 10/beginning of Year 11 and apparently it was this BIG SCHOOLWIDE SCANDAL that I was leaving the music nerds for the goth lesbians (kinda) um anyway) and being introduced to anime, [livejournal.com profile] ryokophoenix got a crush on the character of Kyou from Fruits Basket. So I made her a version of his bracelet for her birthday. And then, due to to popular demand, I made them for everyone else, and we all wore them all the time, so we called it our Kyou bracelet cult.

You are not curious about any of my icons? I will have to actually go and work, in this case.

Oh, man. You would LOVE Gibbs.

Stupid icon keyword limits being ONE LETTER TOO SHORT. As you have probably guessed, that is meant to be 'not the battle but the war'. It arose from a discussion that I think I had with Lizzen, about whether Gibbs or House would win in an argument/dogfight/general test of sarcastic virility. We decided that House would win the argument because he is better at coming up with clever face-to-face insults, but Gibbs would then systematically destroy his life behind his back. Using his own set of minions, who respect and fear him just as much (perhaps more!) than the Ducklings do House, his awesome deadpan determination, and the fact that he has a federal budget and House doesn't.

Gibbs has three ex-wives, builds a boat in his basement with no power tools whatsoever, and used to be a Marine. And now HE SOLVES CRIMES. And drinks lots of coffee.

Does he have a boss? 'cause second-in-commands get me right in the ventricles.

Well, the Director of NCIS. In S1 and S2 we don't see him much, and Gibbs is pretty boss-man-like all on his own, but in S3 and S4 the Director is a woman he used to date. AWKWARD.

Gibbs likes redheads. I think Gibbs/Addison is probably the best thing that could ever happen.

Hey. My name's Melissa. I read your fanfiction and kind of love it very much.

So if you could elaborate on:

Leoben's meditation tapes and red demonic doom bunnies

And indulge me in a story about:

Omg hms pilotlove

That'd be great.
Because while I have a sincere interest and complete lack of knowledge in and about the first two, I probably know exactly what the pilotlove is there for.
I just love to talk and hear about them SO MUCH THAT I CAN'T HELP MYSELF.

ext_21673: ([bsg] pilotlove > everything)

Hee! Okay. 'Leoben's meditation tapes' is a reference to my BSG crackfic Benevolent Sibling. Quote with context:

“Couldn’t we be watching something a bit more stylish?” Simon muttered.

“Like what?” Six was making something that looked like a giant web of names, gnawing thoughtfully on the end of her pencil and occasionally adding a wobbly arrow labeled with things like ‘frakked once or twice’, ‘not speaking to each other’, or ‘friendly rivals’.

“Well, I know that I for one downloaded the contents of the Aerlon cultural media archives before the day of our attack, and there are several excellent independent projects –”

“Oh, *that* folder. I think Leoben deleted that from the mainframe to make room for his meditation tapes.”

“What?”

“God moves in mysterious ways. And it is my personal opinion that He doesn’t like boring arthouse films any more than the rest of us.”

'Red demonic doom bunnies' is a reference to the [livejournal.com profile] milliways_bar panfandom writing RPG, which I play in occasionally. My character was taking part in a kareoke night and singing the role of Anya in the Buffy musical song 'I've Got A Feeling' and...there were references to bunnies. And he decided to create bunnies. And being Lucifer, they were red demonic bunnies. Which have now taken up permanent residence as part of the game canon :D

OMG HMS PILOTLOVE. Yeah, that's me punning on 'ship', which I did in Amateur (That’s the way they are, in the minds of these people: forever locked together, a single invincible entity, the great ship Starbuckandapollo).

I mix and match!

Interests: What on earth is 'virtuous chocolate' and where can I find some?

Icons: 'Cassanova - let's invent punk' and 'The world is more interesting.' On the second one I'm interested in why you say it's the archetype that's important. Hannibal & Clarice??

Also, he is too her grandfather. :]

God.
There is almost nothing better than singing "BUNNIES--BUNNIES, IT MUST BE BUNNIES" at the top of your lungs.
Almost. Red demonic bunnies raise the bar a little.
