call for meta/music

RIGHT. This is a quick-and-dirty plea for commentary (doesn't have to be anything more than surface impressions, but if you want to go deeper, go for it!) relating to one Azula of the Fire Nation, because I have a long and wonderful fic just beginning to crystallise in my consciousness. I'm not even going to start it until I've finished S2 of Avatar and written my Remix assignment and gathered some of my resilience back (no more soulless fics. not for a while.) but I want to collect ideas.

I've spent the afternoon spilling meta at hobviously and my ideas are a bit clearer as a result, but I want to hear from everyone else. Tell me about her father, and her brother, and her firebending, and how she likes Ty Lee's cheerful amorality and even more she likes the fact that Mai isn't scared of her, but how sometimes she lies awake staring at the stars and wondering if she won't have to kill Mai one of these days.

(I also need music for an Azula playlist; so far I have eleven songs, but I need more.)

. . . I want to be of help to you, but every time I start to write this it starts turning into Ty Lee meta instead. Mostly based on the recruitment scenes, and that whole basically-threatening-Ty-Lee-into-leaving-the-circus thing, and Ty Lee obviously knows what is going on, and obviously has to be kind of afraid of Azula and completely aware of what she is capable of, but nonetheless she's still just so genuinely cheerful and happy to see her and - okay, maybe I can't make coherent Ty Lee meta. But I want to babble about her regardless.

Babble away! I can't write much about Azula without covering the other Dangerous Ladies as well, and Ty Lee is the one I have the least grasp on.
