(no subject)

Q has redeemed herself by telling me not to do the washing up because I still have exams. Aw.

I am ploughing like a mad thing through my six pages of revision questions (and by six pages I mean six pages, with over 50 questions per page) and am ignoring the fact that I forget everything ten minutes after I've written it down. RUBROSPINAL TRACT. DYNAMIC GAMMA NEURONS. THE MONOSYNAPTIC STRETCH REFLEX. ETC.

However, my neck-shoulders-upper back area has turned into one solid knot (where's [livejournal.com profile] _leareth when you need her?) and I am teetering on the brink of academia-induced madness, so I think I'm going to go for a walk and clear the cobwebs out of my head.

(Speaking of: Charlotte's Web trailer, which manages to neatly ignore, you know, the entire plot, in favour of flatulence jokes. Dakota Fanning looks like a tolerable Fern, but I am going to be hearing Charlotte's voice and just thinking 'Julia Roberts! Julia Roberts! Julia Roberts!')

*sighs at trailer* It's going to suck, isn't it? :(

Do not let the academia eat you alive!

I...I'm not sure. I don't think it'll be too bad, actually, I just think the trailer is amazingly uninformative as to what the movie is ABOUT. Assuming they stuck with the plot of the book.

OOH. That trailer that you posted. Looks so cool! Kinda like Secretary except even more extreme, and still sympathetic. And with government conspiracies and French accents and AWESOME.

[identity profile] not-in-denial.livejournal.com 2006-06-22 07:00 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yes indeed, I desperately must see that movie, OR I SHALL DIE.

Secretary was good in some respects, but it still reinforced the stereotype that BDSM is something mentally ill people do (even though some do, it's not really the kind of thing we want to be promoting, heh) But the girl in this one seems to be totally sane and stuff, and the guy seems to really be more interested in being a protector than an abuser, and yeah. *babbles*

Plus, as you said, government conspiracies and French accents. It can't go wrong!

Leareth is curled up in bed -- or should be -- feeling sorry for herself after inexplicably falling sick at the gym.

*mopes, would also like a back-massage*

Awwww :(

Sleep and have tea! And get better for Sunday, so we can go a-coffee-ing and I can pick your well-travelled brains.

OOH POETS OF THE FALL. I only have one song by them but I love it to pieces.

Music swap over coffee? Vienna for Poets?

[identity profile] -leareth.livejournal.com 2006-06-22 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)

I have enough Vienna to fill two CDs, so :) SWAPYA.

[identity profile] -leareth.livejournal.com 2006-06-22 12:50 pm (UTC)(link)
How d'ya want it -- do you have a portable harddisk or USB drive, or need them burnt?
ext_21673: (even if it was (qaf))

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2006-06-22 12:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Burnt as music CDs would be nice, so I can play them in my car :)

I assume you and Ken haven't made plans yet, so do you want to improvise some now? Sunday brunch at Essen or somewhere similar?

[identity profile] -leareth.livejournal.com 2006-06-22 12:54 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL, shall do, and if I forget you can uh ... make me go home and burn them XD

No plans on my end; I presume none of his end, so make whatever plans XD but let's try for somewhere not in Civic ... mainly because I live here and spend way too much money at Essen (had brekkie there this morning)

I am so bad at knowing suitable cheap brunch places anywhere BUT Civic >_< And I wanted to do some last-minute shopping there. Hmmm. I know there's a Babar's next to Electric Shadows that does very good brekkies, if you want to try somewhere new?

[identity profile] -leareth.livejournal.com 2006-06-22 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Works for me :P haven't been there often.

11ish? I don't know what kind of time you drag yourself out of bed on Sundays :D And I'll probably go to Civic at 10 to do the shopping I need do. CLIP-ON KOALAS!

[identity profile] -leareth.livejournal.com 2006-06-22 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
11 will work XD and if it doesn't, you know where I live so feel free to bash the doorbell!

Just emailed Ken to let him know.

And now: I return to the studying. Le sigh. Go to bed and get better, my dear.

*shooes you away*
