(fried) paradox. and coffee.

Okay, so, we take the facts:

a) tapeworms are transmitted through eating pork products

b) Jews do not eat pork products

c) the Jews in New York have the highest incidence of tapeworm of any ethnic group in that city (apparently. source: my friend who is studying nursing)

Does anyone else see the logical hiccup here? Quelle bizarre.

Also, omg.

Take your normal black coffee (I am a poverty-stricken plebe and use instant stuff) and add:

- 1 shake of cinnamon
- a few drops of vanilla essence
- 1 heaped teaspoon brown sugar
- a large dash of chocolate liquer

Add milk if you like milk (I'm a half-coffee-half-milk girl) and stir. And then stick inna microwave because the bloody milk was cold. But. YUM.

As good as that drink sounds, it stretches my definition of coffee to the limit. Also: half-coffee, half-milk is coffee-flavored milk.

I'm a purist. See icon.

I am the most ridiculously impure coffee drinker since the beginning of time. I am kind of scared to get used to coffee with less milk, becuse I didn't even like coffee at the beginning of the year. And if this continues I'll be drinking three cups of black coffee a day in no time at all, which I don't think is a habit I want to be getting into at this stage of my life :D

You can get tape worms from all sorts of meats, including fish. Something I learned during our parasitology section of my Medical Anthropology course back in undergrad.

Heh, this (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0393304264/qid=1133369876/sr=8-3/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i3_xgl14/002-5814114-6336821?n=507846&s=books&v=glance) was our text for that particular part of the sylabus.

Ahhh! *nods wisely* I'm taking a parasitology course in third year, I think. Looks thrilling and possibly paranoia-inducing.

Yeah, just a little on the unnerving side. Match that with some feline dissection and it makes for an interesting dinner time.

*laughs weakly*

I don't think they actually let me touch anything exciting until I'm in med school. At the moment I am placated with test tubes and the occasional DNA gel smear.

Aww, that's not fun. My A&P course was a 100 level intro. I took it for an elective my Senior year. Me and a room full of freshmen.

Had my final labpractical the day after my 21st birthday. That sucked pretty hard....
