while you're dancing through

In a fit of grand procrastination, I made an Amazon wishlist. It was a bad idea. Now all I can think about is the things I don't have, which is ridiculous and shallow but is currently compounding with my daunting piles of work to put me in a very bad mood.

I think I'm going to go and rent a stack of musicals and have a marathon tonight, having already worked my way through Les Mis and Oklahoma. Mmm, Hugh Jackman. Also Mmm, Phillip Quast's voice, but not in that way because he was presenting PlaySchool when I was but a wee thing and that would be kind of disturbing. I have also found out that Idina Menzel plays Maureen in my recording of Rent, which puts her at the top of my OMGCOOL list.

Musicals are good at cheering me up.

*makes tea and puts on Wicked*

You know what else is good at cheering me up? Shameless attention h0ring. Ergo, meme! As consolation, I encourage you all to post it so I can do it for you - I won't just suck up your comments and run away. No one's that heartless. Bad llama.

Ahem.

We all have things about our friends that make us slightly envious. Not in a bad way, but in a "Wow! I wish I had that person's hair, eyes, money, relationship, toe nails, whatever."

So tell me what about me makes you envy me (cheap-ass ego boost/comment whoring, I know), then post this in your LJ and see what makes me envious of you!

There was multiple punctuation after the last line of that meme, but I removed it.

If you get stuck, you can always claim to be jealous of my sexy anal-retentive pedantism when it comes to punctuation. Because you know you are. Rawr.

You dance, you cook, your work ethic is to mine as Russia is to Rhode Island and you write like a knife.

Can I just put in a pre-emptive envy of your metaphors? :D

Only if you promise to share the 2004 Assassins whatsit with me if you ever get it! Because!

It has songs I don't have!

*claws at world*

Also, where are you. I'm all dressed up. I want to talk to everyone. How this is related, I don't know.

I am about to vacuum the corridors. And then I am going to read a bazillion books on temporal acceleration and modernity and hope like hell an essay topic presents itself.

*is sleepy anyway. waves you along* That is what I am hoping for with the Elusive Corporal/the Grand Illusion. All I can say is that they are both touchingly homoerotic.

I really wish my books were touchingly homoerotic. That would make it all okay. Want to hear the topic I picked from the list, because I am insane?

"The mechanical clock is the key machine of the modern world." Critically analyse this statement with respect to the modernisation of Australia.

Ahah. Hah. Hah. See icon.

Coughfilmscough.

HA HA HA HA

You are not that insane. The clock ate about a chapter of my AP Euro book last year. Talk about deists.

I think I am going to talk only about temporal changes in the workplace after the Industrial Revolution, which is still fricking hard because I can't find anything with an Australian perspective. I think I'll just read lots of British and American books and then hunt up some Australian statistics to prove my points.

I may have a paragraph devoted to timezones and the impact of the Internet :D

The Industrial Revolution is pretty similar wherever you go. WITH ITS ENORMOUS PITS OF SUCKING. Good grief.

You will need trains then.

Trains --> public transport --> timetables

And also of your sexy anal-retentive pedantism when it comes to punctuation.

I envy your scientistness. If I had to handle all those number things and charts you have to make, I would have just rolled myself up in graph paper and moved into the terrarium with the turtle a long time ago. You've got the best brain ever.

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2005-04-16 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
Believe me, rolling myself up in graph paper is sounding pretty damn good right now. But thanks :)

That you write so much better than I do, and it's not even what you're doing with your life. I mean, you're good at other things too. You constantly astound me with the clever and talented. Dammit.

*hugs you*

Have I told you how lovely you are? And how cool that icon is?

And how sodding disturbing the production of Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat I'm watching is? There are random schoolkiddies, and a disturbing angel-kindergarten teacher crossbreed. And Joseph is full of teh gay.

...it's kinda growing on me, actually.

Heh, I removed the multiple punctuation as well.

Anyway. Your mind. Seriously. You combine all this scientific and mathmatical stuff with the abilty to see beautiful imagery and words and people and then to write as wonderfully, as vividly and as insightfully as you do is just incredible.
