I'm finding my way back to sanity again

...though I don't know what I'm going to do when I get there

Name Those Lyrics, whee. Siobhan, you don't count.

School is OVER, semester is OVER, House Music is OVER (thanks to everyone who complimented me afterwards *^_^*) and I only have two more terms and one more set of exams to go before I graduate. This would be much more exciting if I wasn't so bloody exhausted. I find it exceedingly unfair that on the first day of holidays I feel very tired and uninspired. Watch me rhyme. Apparently extreme fatigue is one of the aftereffects of the illness I had. Bah. Also watch me speak in sentence fragments because they take less effort and scraping together of brain cells.

I've decided to do some reading in the three weeks of no schoolwork that have been granted to me, and have done some rather optimistic borrowing from the school library. Virginia Woolf's Orlando, Sarah Waters' Fingersmith and a collection of Australian short fiction. Also going to have a look at my mother's classics shelf and attack some Peter Carey, because if he's won the Booker Prize he can't be all that bad.

[livejournal.com profile] shineko? Did you see the challenge @ [livejournal.com profile] togakushishrine? The world conspires in favour of our unhealthy plotbunnies, I swear.

Was going to do some writing, but I think I'll go collapse on my bed and sleep for a hundred years instead. Anyone tries to wake me up by kissing me, they DIE.

I've discovered I'm not as much of an incurable romantic as I once thought. I am yet to think of a way to blame fandom for this, but I intend to find one.

[Ali, Liz and Eugenie - if you read this before I ring you, you're invited to my place on Tuesday to watch the OC and go opshopping and order pizza or something so I don't have to cook. Check with parents. It'll cause problems if I'm not allowed to drive you places.]

Fingersmith is quite good, but Orlando is wonderful. Have you ever seen the film adaptation of Orlando?

I hope so, I liked Tipping The Velvet and this promises to be good as well.

No, I haven't, but I'll probably seek it out if I enjoy the book.

Mother: Virginia Woolf? Mmm, okay, she can be hard to get into.

Me: CRAZYSEXCHANGETIMETRAVELWHEEEE *coddles book*

Orlando is hard to get into, so don't get too excited, but I mean, the background behind the book is fascinating. The film is utterly utter, Tilda Swinton does a divine job of playing Orlando.

Haha, ta!
All of my icons are Beatle icons, but this one is my favourite.

actually i think if he's won the booker prize its further evidence that he's crap. two english teachers have informed me that he is what they call a 'prize author' ie. writing pretentious shizzle just to get the $$$$$. like a ho in a rapp clip bustin her @$$ to get the bling bling. but i haven't read him except for the begginin of my life as a fake so who knows, maybe its all lies. like the hip hop lies of pimps and hos when really they eat the weetbix outta thar bowls liek everyone else.

Look on the bright side, Frar, it isn't really the holidays until you can sleep on Monday morning and spend the entire day doing nothing. The first weekend never counts.

The school library had Sarah Waters books? I feel gipped now, I only borrowed some photography books and 'Oscar and Lucinda'.

Dammit.

But I can't spend the entire day doing nothing, I have to go to skating ;_;

Oscar and Lucinda is one of those ones that I am planning to read. I think my mum owns a copy.

Well...most of the day doing nothing then. All of normal-school time, at least.

So far 'Oscar and Lucinda' is very, very good. Lucinda is adorable, running around in bloomers. I keep on seeing Ralph Finnes and Cate Blanchette as Oscar and Lucinda because that's who play them on the movie. I think we have the movie as well. The movie is on my 'to-watch' list.

Just found out that my brother hated Buffalo Soldiers because, and I quote, 'nothing happened'.

The boy is insane.

WHAT?

What did he mean 'nothing happened'?!

I...what...

That's because the world is finally seeing the light and realize that crack isn't all that bad :P

I knew there had to be a reason!

Now I just have to think up a way that it could be even remotely feasible.

*strangles the previous tag*

.......well, I make the crack, I don't try to make it make sense, usually :P

Yar, I can come on Tuesday. Do you want me to bring anything? And what time do you want me there????
ext_21673: (Default)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2004-06-26 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Bring: bedding, sleepover stuff, money for lunch and dinner and videos. Any snack food you desire.

Come over in the morning. After 9 would be best but I can drag myself out of bed earlier if need be. Ring Eugenie to work out lifts/buses, maybe..?
