and now for something completely different
*dies*
FINALLY. Stupid browser refuses to show the top toolbar so I've been switching modes until I can actually FIND the damn update button...
Okay. Anyway. I'm in Birmingham, in the house of my relatives and savouring civilisation. I've been staying in many, many B&Bs, and one can have too many cups of complimentary tea and cocoa before the boredom sets in.
We've been to Hay-on-Wye, the biggest second hand bookshop town in the world - over *30* of the damn things. I have restricted myself to the first Robert Rankin book and two paperback Shakespeares so I can write my oral. Other than that, am restricting spending as far as possible, but I'm going to a huge new shopping centre and market tomorrow >.<
Tink has procured volumes 5 and 8 of YnM and my life is thus approaching completeness. Am now off to update
mercurial_wit again and stop being quite so antisocial towards my cousins. And reread both Jasper Fforde books. READ THEM *prods annie and eujar especially* They rock.
Perhaps it's a good thing I'm not going to Animania. All this talk of papier-mache is quite alarming.
NB - Cath, can you poke James for me and ask if he ever wears ANYTHING but his Venture gear when on hikes? (I saw the photos) :D

Think Rainbow Thermals.
Think Short Short Shorts.
Think Shin Pads.
Think Soccer shirt.
Think little feminine bowl hat.
And the most disturbing thing on the hike? Matt, the guy who looks like Samwise the Brave with an orange mug attatched to his pack, requested that James put his hair into pigtails because he looked "so damn cute" (true quote).
Overall, that hike made all the males a notch more homosexual. Even my dearest Ben. We named ourselves "The Fellaship of Ms Ring," where I was the One Ring, my Ben was Gollum (doesn't he have the eyes!?!), other Ben was an Uruk-Hai, James was Eomer (but he was in denial and wanted to be Aragorn *snort*) and Matt was Samwise the Brave, a nickname previously given to him from first Film Night.
Next hike we have, you MUST come!! Was uber awesome. ^_^

Okay, now that's over. How are you going? Is England as dreary as ever? Brain not working now. Too much sewing.

England is indeed dreary. Hopefully Rome shall be an improvement.

But try cutting out a long, wide stocking shape, like an Xmas stocking, and then another identical one. stitch them together with elastic at the top and bottom. Gah. Hard to explain.

2nd book - Lost In A Good Book
3rd (as yet unread) book - The Well Of Lost Plots
They're brilliant, very funny and very clever and with many literary references that we, the elite and pretentious, can laugh at and feel smug about. The first one is all about Jane Eyre and I am assured that they are VERY postmodern, so really you should read them purely for that.
They're good. I laughed out loud. Enough said.
