Had to explain the concept of fanfiction at the dinner table tonight. Turns out (siobhan? are you listening?) that my grandfather, who is a published author, wrote a modernised version of Hamlet where Hamlet is a blind 20-year-old who heard his father being murdered by his uncle. DON'T think it was published ^_^ He seemed quite interested in the subject, though. Turned into a discussion on how the Internet is not completely discouraging literary skills in the youth of today.
