HELLO DW. This is me stating my intention to produce more actual blog content and use this as a platform to interact with people, instead of just throwing one-sentence things onto Twitter and clicking numbly on Tumblr posts.
A brief sitrep in list form:
- I'm on annual leave right now, as part of my Nights & Relief term.
- I will be working night shifts all through the week of Christmas (ka-ching).
- YULETIDE AUGH YULETIDE (see also: appropriately Antipodean icon) AUGH
- I've put in my preferences for next year's terms, and there's also the not inconsiderable fact that I will be applying for specialty training in the upcoming year (my indecision re: GP or psych is...ongoing).
- My hair at the moment is awesome. awe. some. I am the missing Bennet sister.
- Seriously, how great are the Lizzie Bennet Diaries?
- Super great.
- I'm leaning towards staying in Canberra for specialty training; to that end I am staying at home with my family for another year and saving as much as humanly possible for a DEPOSIT ON AN APARTMENT. Jesus, who let me at the adulthood game?
Lastly: it's my birthday tomorrow! 12/12/12, baby. Sadly I am not, in fact, turning 12. It will be the 10th anniversary of my blog, though -- my first ever post was on my 16th bday! -- which I consider to be frankly terrifying.
If you've got any further questions as to the current State Of Me, throw them my way.

I've never really got into Tumblr because it feels to me like the opposite of knitting -- knitting feels like wasting time but in a productive way, whereas Tumblr feels like sense-overloading procrastination, procrastination that is even less productive than the other kinds of procrastination I indulge in. (It isn't worse in actual fact; it just ... feels worse.)

You're pretty spot on there, really. I like it in small doses and because it seems to be the only way to follow mainstream fannish discussion these days (despite how unsuitable a platform it is for discussion), but it does tend to leave me feeling dissatisfied and like I'm wasting my time and turning my brain to sparkly mush. For someone like me with no skill with art or graphics it's all about consumption, not production, and that makes me feel sluggish.
