still the best yuletide icon ever
Happy Christmas to those who celebrate! It's been a lovely lazy day down here (although the weather around the rest of my country has gone FUCKING NUTS: cyclones, gales and wild seas, hailstones the size of tennis balls and also bushfires), warm and sunny and with a nice traditional Christmas thunderstorm in the evening.
I received books! The Sea, The Sea (Mum & Dad), some Ray Bradbury short stories (Lauren) and...a promise that Neal Stephenson's latest book is in the mail (Rob). WOO. I have no idea what families who don't do Books as the be-all and end-all of presents give each other for Christmas.
So yeah, I stuffed and trussed a turkey and roasted some vegies, and I ate a lot of chocolate, and
littledust and I spent ages cheerleading each other through some intensive treat-writing, and now my family is watching Stardust.
Sadly, I plan to be asleep when the Yuletide archive opens at...2am on Boxing Day. But what that means right now is: MORE TIME FOR WRITING TREATS. I have moved on to teensy tiny fandoms. And white wine. Yeeeeeeeeeah.
