New book review: The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss
This has been one of the least exciting (and yet most productive) weeks so far this year; I'm on Acute Surgery and there has been, basically, no acute surgery. So we have ward rounds for two hours and then I disappear for the rest of the day and study in the library or practice long cases, and am secretly relieved that my phone isn't ringing.
My Mystique fic is sitting at 7600 words and is going to keep growing. I want to finish the three remaining backstory scenes tonight; then I will just have the, uh, seven remaining movie-time scenes to go. On the positive side, this is probably the most words I've written in a row without actively hating them at any point, so yay!
I'm waiting for the rice cooker to finish so I can serve my Sichuan beef stir-fry. Taste-testing has informed me that I went a little overboard with the chilli -- we will need laaaaaarge glasses of water.
