NYE
Yaaaaaaaay for friends of parents, with their champagne and red wine and mushrooms cooked in truffled butter.
I ransacked their copy of TimeOut and now have a list of shops which are a) open early-ish tomorrow morning, b) having sales, and c) not actually available in Australia (Topshop, Urban Outfitters, Zara, Anthropologie, H&M) and I plan to be on Oxford Street BRIGHT AND EARLY tomorrow morning, looking smug that I am not still in bed and hungover.
Maybe I will be able to locate a cardigan that is neither a hideous shade of beige nor covered in bows. Maybe I will manage to refrain from buying a pair of adorable boots. WATCH THIS SPACE.

BTW, I wanted to let you know that there's a writing comm that might interest you. It's geared toward writing workshop where a writer can post part of their story and have people give suggestions, advice, commentary and critiques for the writer. Also it can be used as a sound board where a writer can talk about their plot, characterization, world building, et al to develop their stories. Here's the link in case you're interested:
