quick PSA
Our router chose a FANTASTIC time to completely stop transmitting internet to the house, so there's a good chance my internet access over the next week might be limited to once-daily use of my father's laptop with its own little wireless modem doo-dah. UGH. WHY NOW. Our computer guy is probably on holidays!
This means: I will have the chance to edit my Yuletide story before Xmas (phew) but won't be around on chat, and may be slow replying to emails.
What with this and the travel freeze in Europe (yeah, my flight into Heathrow on the 27th is not looking very likely) I am losing my festive joy at a rapid rate :(

(Actually, I'm starting to think this whole 'white christmas' thing is really overrated, and I am about 2 more points on the maudlin scale away from giving up and playing 'white wine in the sun' on high rotation while gently sobbing.)

White wine in the suuuuuuun. I might go and play that now. We just got back from a lovely Christmas drinkies thing and I have had a lot of sparkling burgundy and I am once more feeling PRETTY GOOD about the festive season.

It's impressive, but I really can not listen to the 'find yourself 9000 miles from home when christmas comes around' without misting up. there, I just *typed* it and it happened! Damn you, homesickness, damn you to hell.
