TODAY'S UNWISE DECISION:

...straying just a little too near the NARS section of Mecca Cosmetica and going wild with the testers.

Now, a truly unwise decision would have been buying the Eurydice eyeshadow duo ($78) and the Vesuvio matte lipstick ($54), which was what every cell in my body was screaming at me to do.

But the very fact that I let myself play around with them means that I am left with a very colourful left inner wrist and a gaping dissatisfaction in my soul.

Ugh. I am so disgustingly material.

But you have no idea how gorgeous the 'electric aubergine' half of that eyeshadow duo is, I swear, it is sparkly powdered sex.

Y'know, I would be disinclined to buy eyeshadow entitled Eurydice. It's really not creating positive classical connotations in my mind...

I'm really not sure I'd want makeup which would cause me to *die* if my lover looked at me, though, no matter how sexy said makeup was...

I've been wanting the Eurydice duo for YONKS. Not to mention the Rajasthan duo. And I can't wait to try out the new matte lipsticks.

Mecca Cosmetica is truly the devil's playground. WE WILL GO THERE WHEN I GET BACK.

The Jolie Poupee one is also SO TEMPTING -- basically, I want a really nice purple, and that one has a matt violet that could work for daywear as well as a shimmery shade, while the Eurydice is just all shimmer all the time.

I have SUCH a nice green eyeshadow from The Makeup Store, though, it's called 'fairytale' and it's just sublime.

Apparently Jolie Poupee is very popular among brown-eyed girls, but to be honest, as much as I love the purples on the back of my hand, they tend to make my eyes look bruised and small, which is why I've resisted Eurydice until now.

In my Pleasures of Paris palette, though, I have the light lavender side of the Violetta duo and the deep matte purple/indigo side of Demon Lover, and they're great for creating just a hint of depth and look great together on me. Go figure.

Oh god that Eurydice eyeshadow duo. *__* I remember seeing it and just smearing a little patch all over my hand and sighing at it's beauty.
