adjectives & more adjectives

I'd typed about two paragraphs of a post about Arthur and how he is represented in fandom (in short: with wild variability) and how he is to work with as a narrator (in short: FUCKING UNRELIABLE) and than I thought, Fahye, you are spending far too much time overthinking one single character and you don't need to inflict that on the rest of the internet. So then there was some judicious use of the delete key, and this post is a lot better for it.

(But ugh, ugh, I am not used to it taking this long for me to get a strong handle on my narrator! 3600 words in and I am maybe starting to feel comfortable in the driver's seat.)

Anyway. I said I wouldn't talk about the WIP.

Let's talk about the fact that [livejournal.com profile] drealle sent me an amazing care package as a promise of things to come when I visit her in Brussels! CHOCOLATE. IN FUN FLAVOURS. And also a set of those nifty Blair Waldorf-esque necktie things with which to preppify my work wardrobe.

Let's talk about the fact that tomorrow is Friday.

*fervently* I think I'm going to end the week on a geeky fun note and watch Scott Pilgrim. Work has been boring this week >.>

I FEEL YOU MAN.

There's something about these characters that is just really fucking hard to get a hold of. See also: jesus will this fic just finish itself already.

I am being UNDERSTANDING, okay, I have set up this beautiful detailed outline to satisfy everybody's need for Planning and Structure and no! no! still impossible. Usually I can click with control-freak characters and work with them, but I think in this case my own control issues and Arthur's control issues have managed to BREED AND MULTIPLY.

Oh god. It's like an event horizon of control issues.

I had the opposite problem, where Ariadne's voice just would not materialize and the thing had no structure. So it's basically philosophy bingo with sexy parts. IDEK *throws up hands*

It finally arrived :) I am so glad that it wasn't confiscated by quarantine. Really looking forward to seeing you soon. Perhaps I can join you in London for a musical too?

That would be great! [livejournal.com profile] lizardspots and I have plans to see The Lion King, and depending on finances I may splurge on another one as well.

Oooh, I have just bought tickets to go see that in September with my mum. I am super-dooper looking forward to it. I found a great run-down on the best value seats here:

Eurostar train tickets become available on the 6th of October. To get the cheapest prices, you should book soon after that.

Have you been to Paris?

I have been to Paris for a few days when quite young, and for eight hours during the Italy trip :)
