(no subject)

It's a billion degrees outside (WHERE IS THE AUTUMN WEATHER? I LIKE AUTUMN) and yet I am unable to shake this enormous craving I have for curry. I know exactly what I want, too: I want to drag someone to Kammadhenu on King St and order palak paneer and chilli crab and ridiculous amounts of roti, and a mango lassi, and sit there with messy fingers and watering eyes. Curry, how I miss you!

The epic saga of Paperwork For Electives, Part I, is finally over; both of my initial applications have been sent off. Part II will involve headachey amounts of blood tests and criminal record checks and insurance forms, and Part III will (hopefully!) be all the travel arrangements for my stay in London (LONDOOOOON. I MISS YOU, TOO) in January of next year. But. They can wait until I find out if I've been accepted or not.

Right, back to the homework I'm avoiding by torturing myself with dreams of curry.

1) Email me your address so I can send those Gossip Girl ties to you.

2) Brussels in less than two hours from London. We have a spare room if you wanted to stay with us for a few days. We have chocolate.

1) Will do!

2) Two hours by plane or train? And which is cheaper? My parents are paying for flights to and from, but any internal travel is out of my own (shallow) pocket. THAT SAID, it would be awesome to see you (and Brussels) so I'll endeavour to make it happen if it's at all feasible.

The Eurostar! It is fabulous. A train that travels at 300 km/hour and goes UNDER THE SEA, and arrives 10 minutes from our house. Which is next to a castle. Book a couple of months in advance, and the price is 69 euro return.

:O SOLD. I have a week free after my elective; I want to spend a few days in Oxford, but can definitely spend the other half-a-week in Brussels.

(this'd be the week of, let's see, Jan 31st to Feb 6th)

Fabulous. You're in my calendar. There is a puppet show nearby where all the characters speak Brusseloise, a local dialect that is half-Dutch, half-French.

Kammadhenu on King St

!!!!

I love that restaurant! Normally I just get the lamb vindaloo, but chilli crab sounds delicious.

It is! It requires a bit of fiddling around with pliers and a lot of cooling lassi, but it's DELICIOUS.

Mmm, I sense an incipient dinner out, what do you say?

[identity profile] the-grynne.livejournal.com 2010-03-25 01:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmmmm...curry.

I'm free on Monday night after 7pm, or Wednesday night after 8pm. How about you?

Both of those are out for me, for reasons of formal dinner/tutoring, and choir, respectively. Inconvenient! I'm free Tuesdays and Fridays as a general rule.

Tomorrow, then! :) I'll probably be at Fisher in the afternoon. Just SMS me when. You still have my mobile no?

WAH. 'As a general rule' does not, unfortunately, extend to tomorrow (King Lear) or the next week (home for Easter) BUT if you are prepared to hold out and allow the delicious anticipation of curry to build -- Friday the 9th?

(Cleopatra icon snap!)

:O How could I impose on Lear? *jealous*

9th is good. :)
