what is love if not joy in another's goodness?
Some are so fired up for action by requited love that they can't stop looking for ways to love even more widely -- loving Marianna or Alexei makes them want to love the whole world. Yet others, having no Marianna or Alexei to love, love humanity, ideas, ideals and radiant futures instead with a burning passion.
