~MAGICAL~ PROTECTION

Blah blah my neuro ICA is devoid of structure and proper teaching and I feel a bit useless blah blah situation normal.

Let's talk positives!

+ Mel & I got up at an ungodly hour in order to watch the Tattoo run-through on the oval; I had to run to ward rounds before too long, so she saw more than I did (and took pictures!) but it was SO GREAT. Steel drums! Chinese flag-dancers! Freakishly precise Norwegians! Our seats are very high up in the stadium, so it was good to see some of the performances up close.

+ There was banana bread at dinner. This gets a plus-sign all to itself, for deliciousness.

+ Two parcels arrived today: one was my copy of Burkitt's Essential Surgery, and the other was from [livejournal.com profile] pathstotread! I am in desperate need of entertainment, so it was wonderful to finally be able to watch...

+ LEGEND OF THE SEEKER. This show is so, so, so ridiculous in a really endearing, muscular, shiny, slow-mo, swordfighty kind of way <3 I am up to the episode with the bratty blackmailing telepathic child (HE WANTS TO KILL MEEEEEE sdjkadhjsg oh kid you are the best). I have already uploaded an icon of Richard's ridiculous face, which is maybe my third-favourite thing about the show after Kahlan's impractical yet kickass outfits and everyone's pathetic attempts at pretending that they are not actually Kiwis or Aussies. It's like Farscape all over again!

Legend of the Seeker is amazing-- Kahlan's slow-mo hair whips! Zedd being completely off his rocker yet adorable! Monster of the week hilarity! A bad guy so bad he kills kittens! Richard being an adorable Boy Scout doofus every week!--and if you think it's good now, wait until you get to the second season.
