actually I greatly approve of my five remaining icons

I wish I could make a wardrobe post today! I'm experimenting with that rolled-up-hems thing that seems to be all over the streetstyle blogs at the mo, and it's saved my pair of rather unattractive wide-leg jeans. The whole ensemble is:

- red long-sleeved top with slouch neck, from an op-shop
- brown waistcoat with velvet trim from Esprit
- Colorado jeans, rolled up to mid-calf
- low red heels

It was sunny for fifteen minutes and now it's chilly and raining -- must be Canberra in the spring! This afternoon I need to tear myself away from my West Wing rewatching and pull together a short essay on road fatality prevention.

I'd forgotten how annoying LJ is on a free account. Ads! Those bloody hover-over-link previews! Inability to edit comments!

Talk about first world problems.

You should render your outfit via stick figure drawn in Paint :O

Oh, it's hit the style blogs now? I've been rolling my jeans up to incorporate my boots since it got warm enough. HEY LOOK MA, DEREK'S IN FASHION FOR ONCE. *G* That outfit sounds neaaat.

Mostly it seems to be on guys? Trousers rolled up to show a couple of inches of bare skin above the shoes, which are worn without socks, because apparently the girls have stolen all the socks! Sorry, fashion, I remain dubious about wearing socks that are visible above the shoe.

With girls apparently you can combine the two. (http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/2009/09/on-streetat-marni-milano.html) Still dubious.

I never wear shoes, madam, only calf-high boots and high-top trainers with knee socks. It is a style which was last night accused of being "Dutch", although where on earth my interlocutor got this I don't know as none of my Dutch friends would be seen dead looking like this.

A mere couple of inches? COWARDS. PANSIES. AIM FOR AT LEAST SIX.
