Dear LJ:

KIDNEYS ARE AWESOME

I am somewhat less awesome, as I woke up 20 minutes before I had to leave for class. So I didn't have time to pack lunch. Or apply mascara. And couldn't find my hairbrush. I AM A BIT OF A MESS. But I am wearing earrings, so I feel like I can face the world regardless. It's a comfort thing.

Once again my writing-fu has returned, but I am completely buried in uni work. Completely. I want to get the next chapter of the heistfic out just so that I feel like less of a fandomly failure, but that would mean a couple of hours spent NOT studying for Barrier or keeping up with the week's case or doing my Population Med assignment or reading a billion papers for Honours.

Yeah. Med school devours lives. Who knew, right?

My kidneys story:

I did quiz bowl throughout High School. We were pretty damned good. But it's the mistakes that stick with you.

So we got a question where they said something on the lines of, "(Some random facts I can't remember, leading up to...) The human body has millions of these filtration units..."

And my teammate buzzed in and said, "Kidneys." And we looked at him aghast, because of course the answer was "Nephrons." And then for the rest of the year whenever we needed to mock him we just asked him about where he was keeping his million kidneys.
