SUPANOVA '09 -- Saturday
I have acquired some resizing software that doesn't suck. Ergo: con report!
ryokophoenix took most of these, though some were taken by whoever was holding her awesome camera at the time.
I will gloss over the Friday night preceding the con, during which I got no sleep whatsoever and
ryokophoenix & I -- through heroic and manic effort -- managed to do basically the top half of my costume and a few last-minute things on hers. That's not important.
ON TO THE CON.

highlyeccentric was a great help when it came to touching up my hands -- the MAC paint was fantastic but inevitably rubbed off my fingers frequently.

Ali & Anna experimented with sfx makeup and were some truly phenomenal zombies. They were a hit at the con; the first photo request they got was from a delighted tiny child. This is them adding the finishing touch: fresh blood!

ZOMBIE ATTACK. GLINDA TO THE RESCUE.

Recreating the promo picture. Would have been better if I hadn't been sans hat, but the cardboard attempt slipped off the wig and the reinforced fabric attempt was too floppy. Ah well.

Glinda & Elphaba in all their glory. I am SO happy with how we looked. It would have been nice to be more recognised, but we timed it well: Wicked is just about to open in Sydney. If we'd left it until next year there would have been competition, I bet.

SLEEP? WHY NO, WE HAVEN'T HAD ANY, THANKS FOR ASKING.

Bubbles!

Possibly the best vigilante team ever?

Preparing for cosplay chess! I was a bishop; I got to blast one other piece with my Magical Powers, and then I had to die horribly when I was taken.

KJADGLKSJCKJDFYIEOFSFA THIS GUY. He looked so much like David Tennant it was actually terrifying. Same hair, same profile, same eyebrows, same slightly manic persona.

The lovely
_leareth as Go-Go from Kill Bill.

I like this photo! You can see the layers of ruffles, which ended up taking me TWELVE HOURS to sew. In an ideal world they would have been darker and much closer together (hahahah. the skirt was already unbelievably heavy. many more layers and it would have fallen off.) but all-in-all I am proud of it.

...look, her skit had a hilarious twist about Haku (from Spirited Away) actually being Spock, and then we started talking about Elphaba making a very good Vulcan, and then we got a bit silly.

UNEXPECTED ZOMBIE

We'd perfected the 'contempt' look by the end of the day. I was starting to get a bit shiny by this point because we'd just done our skit on the brightly-lit stage, and I didn't have any appropriately green face powder.
Sunday pictures will go up once Mel's made her Sunday post -- they're her photos, she gets first bash at posting :)
