talk about contrasts

I am currently in a Queensland country town enjoying the hospitality of stars_like_dust. It's warm and quiet and oh-so-sunny and relaxing as all getout -- much as I adore Sydney, it's not a relaxing place. Which is fine with me, as I am not usually a relaxed person, but oh man. After the month I've had, this is heavenly.

Yesterday we went clothes shopping, had delicious gelato, walked along the beachfront in Townsville, sung the entirety of Wicked while roadtripping (v. embarrassing, as Miss Claira's voice is 39847367 times better than mine), made pizza, and watched hundreds of things on YouTube.

(LOOK AT THIS. JUST LOOK AT IT. MARY POPPINS & ELIZA DOOLITTLE HAVE A BITCHFIGHT. KJHKDHWSKD. WHY SO AMAZING, JULIE ANDREWS?)

Basically, we are the best housemates ever and one day the universe will allow us to prove this on a longterm basis.

Right now we're chillin' on the verandah with laptops and Vienna Teng. Today we are going to cook lentil curry and cookies, and we might go for a walk, and we might watch some cool DVDs or write a little bit or just sit around. WHO KNOWS. THE NEW DAY IS A GREAT BIG FISH.

You do sound like excellent housemates :D Let me know when/where/what you want me to do when you're back in Canberra (no hurry or anything, just saying: you tell me where/when to go and what for, and I shall endeavour to do so).
