um what

Farscape 1x05 is freaking me out a bit because it's about reliving bits and pieces of the same day, and the constant reference point is that Crichton keeps breaking a piece of blue porcelain-glass-stuff.

UM.

I feel like this is one of those impossible moments where creative influence creeps through a hole in the timespace continuum and colours the formation of something I have already written.

PS - holy shit internet, you were totally not kidding about how hot Aeryn Sun is

noooooo why have you replaced my favorite show with my least favorite show wooooeeeee what happened to princess tutu? CRY!

although claudia black is indeed the hottest of the hot and that is just scientific fact.

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 10:46 am (UTC)(link)
HAHAHA. Can't please everyone all the time :D Actually, I reached a certain point in Tutu and then two episode files were unplayable for some reason, and I am back to being unwilling to download things because I am paying by the MB. So I have turned to the other thing I have been meaning to watch for a while, because I actually own proper DVDs of the first season.

I only had Milliwaysian reference for Claudia Black previously to this, so I am enjoying watching her actually move and scowl and be British. Mmm.

[identity profile] sainfoin-fields.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 10:48 am (UTC)(link)
Erm, but she's Australian?

That is an okay excuse. I GUESS. I wouldn't want you to watch Tutu out of order! How far did you get?

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 10:51 am (UTC)(link)
Oh I know, but her accent in the show isn't, and she does British deliciously so I'm not complaining. I've got Virginia Hey and most of the supporting cast to represent Aussie accents.

I got up to episode...eight, I think? Not very far :(

[identity profile] baggers.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 10:59 am (UTC)(link)
Not British, classical theater training + I would say upper class upbringing + huskiness of hottt. When she speaks out of character, it is almost the same, but you can hear the Australian.
ext_21673: ([im] and the world revolves)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 11:03 am (UTC)(link)
Really? Because I have a very upper class accent for an Australian, and her accent is far more marked than mine. I believe you that it's a result of training etc. (and, I'd say, British parentage) but if you put her in a room full of Aussies she would still sound far more British than all of them. Whereas Virginia Hey's accent, even when it's layered with her serene-alien voice, sounds a lot more typical.

[identity profile] baggers.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 11:12 am (UTC)(link)
The supreme hotness of her voice obscures its origin. But the Stargate dvd audio commentary exposed her for the Australian that she is!
ext_21673: ([tw] voyage a l'envers)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 11:15 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I concur on the supreme hotness. Yes indeed.
ext_9289: (Default)

[identity profile] sainfoin-fields.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 11:25 am (UTC)(link)
Also, I just looked it up cause I was curious, and after being educated in Sydney apparently she spent a lot of time in London and NZ. So that would help muddy the linguistic waters.

(Anonymous) 2009-02-10 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Her grandparents, whom she grew up with, were also British so that's also a factor.

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 11:12 am (UTC)(link)
DAMMIT now I can't pay any attention to the dialogue because I'm listening too hard :) I think the proximity to Crichton's stand-out Americanness does make her accent seem a lot more British than it is, because when she's talking to Hey's character it seems a lot flatter.

Just wait (or don't) till he puts on his own fake Australian, er, Sebacean accent. OH CRICHTON. THE ONLY TIME I LIKED YOU.

DON'T TELL ME WHY, I am only six episodes in and am liking it fine so far so any squee-harshing would be sad. AUSSIE ALIENS IN SPACE. Woo.
ext_9289: (Default)

[identity profile] sainfoin-fields.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 11:36 am (UTC)(link)
I will leave your squee untouched on the condition that you never try to convince somebody who doesn't like Farscape that they should just watch until X episode and if they didn't like X then just keep going until Y! Indeed my hatred for it would be about 90% less if I had not surrounded by people who kept telling me just that.

ENJOY YOUR SEXY ALIENS
ext_21673: ([himym] the dreamwork of now)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 11:40 am (UTC)(link)
I accept that condition! I had absolutely no idea what to expect of it beyond 'Aeryn Sun is hot', and it is not the kind of show I am going to have Deep Opinions about, but it is enjoyable and will be a nice break from study, and that is all I ask now that I can't download HIMYM and The Office any more (WOE. I got all caught up, too!).

[identity profile] officersun524.livejournal.com 2009-02-10 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
I LOVE THIS SHOW! If you're only 5-6 episodes in, I promise it only gets better (until season 4 when it just gets confusing and Aeryn's hair goes into evil twin land or something).

Sorry, your lj came up on Google alerts for Ms. Claudia, who only gets hotter once they go to black leather.

hee about "extremely gay" Crichton. I like him but he can also be quite annoying.

FARSCAPE.

I love that show times a billionty. It's hands down my favorite scifi show, beyond even B5.

[identity profile] azraeljt.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
so agreeance.

[identity profile] pathstotread.livejournal.com 2009-02-10 11:13 am (UTC)(link)
I've not seen Babylon 5, but I have to agree with this.

[identity profile] famousdeaths.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
She's hot like FIRE. Or lava.

And yep, totally my favorite sci-fi show too. Everyone told me that the first season was kinda bad but I was in love with everyone by episode 3. And the show didn't disappoint once. Except for Jeremiah Crichton, but at least it brings the lulz.

[identity profile] pathstotread.livejournal.com 2009-02-10 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you have heard from the px wot hate Farscape, so now you will hear from the px who does not! OMG SHOOOOOW. I love John and Aeryn more than just about anything. And I just cannot get over how stunning Claudia Black is.

I am already looking forward to John and Aeryn! The show is...unspectacular, but it keeps slipping in moments or lines of dialogue that you're really not expecting, which I really like.

eg:

John: Haven't you ever, you know, clicked with someone?
Aeryn: OKAY I MIGHT HAVE FOUND YOU ATTRACTIVE IN A WEIRD ALIEN WAY WHEN WE MET, OKAY, WHATEVER, NOT A BIG DEAL, I AM GOING TO STOMP AWAY AND GLARE NOW
Fahye: ......surely this is not meant to happen this early in the series!

Oh Aeryn. I approve of her dedication to her I NEVER SMILE AND I CARRY A BIG GUN identity, and am looking forward immensely to its slow deconstruction.

I think I need icoooooons.

At the risk of being, y'know, PUSHY and TRYING TO SELL PEOPLE ON A SHOW and whatnot, I think the show gets so much better as it goes on. Either that or you get to a point where you either give up in disgust or are like FINE I ENJOY THE CRAZY.

Hahahaha oh Aeryn I heart you a lot.

[livejournal.com profile] ladyireth has some pretty icons that aren't too spoilery, as she labels her posts with the episodes.

You have already been informed about how Farscape made Tris and I want to kill ourselves a million times over, so I will not mention that.

I WILL JUST AGREE WITH YOU ABOUT HOW AWESOME AND HOT AERYN IS.

Oh Claudia Black Hotness and Variety Hour WHY DO YOU NOT EXIST?!?!
