top of a hurricane
I have never tried to travel on a Christmas Eve before, and now I know why. Luckily we were at Dublin airport early enough that the crowds were only just beginning to form, but Heathrow is crazily busy. We have a couple of hours before our bus leaves for Birmingham so we're killing time at an internet station and listening to the piped warbling of ALL I WANT FOR CHRITSMAS IS YOOOOOOU and quite frankly I am beginning to worry that the world has forgotten the existence of any non-seasonal music. Every single building I have been in for the past couple of weeks, and every single radio station I have listened to, has been playing nothing else. I love carols! But I love CHORAL carols, not hideous poppy remixes with whiny vocal arrangements, and there is not a single secular Christmas-themed song that doesn't make me want to strangle the creator with a length of tinsel.
I hope you all enjoy your celebrations or peaceful times or days off or whatever you will be doing with yourself in the next few days. May you have comfort & joy & all that jazz :)

I hope your travels are going brilliantly! Do you still think we might make a meet up in London on Monday 29th?

Well - I have a few options for you ... more possibly pending - I can meet you at Leicester Square, and we can combine Chinese food with a gothy pub (or a regular one!).
Or I can meet you at Hyde Park Corner and we can head into the super cheesy winter wonderland for mulled wine and sausages.
... I will see if I can think of some other options ...
