Fic update: 11,575 words

This is now officially the second-longest thing I've ever written. (It'll have to make it to 18,000 to beat the Big Damn Crossover.) I was going SO WELL at writing it start-to-finish until I hit a block, and now I am just leaping around and writing self-indulgent kissing scenes, but whatever. At least it's growing.

I feel it is a clear indication of where my fannish priorities are right now that I have defriended [livejournal.com profile] chuunin and friended [livejournal.com profile] merlinxarthur, because I can only cope with one high-volume community on my flist at a time, and right now the latter is the one giving me the insane medical intern/Prince of Wales AUs.

Also, I am about to email my aunt and ask her to tape the season finale off the TV so we can watch it when we're in Birmingham, because there is no way we can watch it in an internet cafe in Prague without paying through the nose and/or being put in a Czech prison for being publically squealing nuisances.

I AM MAKING SUCH A GOOD IMPRESSION ON YOUR AUNT BEFORE I EVEN GET THERE. <3

you're spoiling us! self-indulgent kissing scenes? whatever it takes to get past that block...

that rec was fantastic. arthur as prince of wales. onanism. medic!merlin. rape dogs. ahahahahaaaaa.

and i am also magnificently jealous of your europe trip! which is to say, i hope you have a fantastic time and it looks like amazing fun. and... only one day in Paris? i can't imagine how fast you'll have to be moving to cram everything in.

THE RAPE DOGS WERE MY FAVOURITE PART. I think I need to read it again.

Yeah, basically we get into north Paris just before noon and then have to catch a night TGV from Gare de Lyon in the south, so we have six hours to wander through the city. I doubt we'll actually be trying to SEE anything, just wandering.

i read every single rape dog line out loud to myself. because they were just that fantastic.
er... i was alone, of course.

i see. so it's more of a layover. but wandering through paris is probably one of the best kinds of wandering there is. not that i know from personal experience... one day, one day. (but if you ever come to new york and find yourself with only 6 hours, i can tell you how to make the most of them.)
