Calcifer = Alfred?

I watched the Hayao Miyazaki version of Howl's Moving Castle for the first time tonight, and I must say that the combination of Christian Bale's voice + a Howl whose alter ego is a dark flying creature of vigilante awesomeness is QUITE HILARIOUS at times.

I AM SO TIRED. I'd forgotten how tiring all-day dance rehearsals can be, and I've got another week of this to go. Time for bed, I think!

This is the reason that one of my interests is "welshman by day, batman by night". :D

Calcifer = Alfred is a new thought, though.

......we need to maybe do something about this brain thing, it could get awkward if one of us springs a leak and you wake up muttering medical terminology to yourself.

Heh. On the other hand it would be awesome if you suddenly discovered yourself to be in possession of fairly comprehensive old school Who knowledge.

I am not debating that.

*gigglefits*

I was not hugely impressed by the Miyazaki version (I didn't hate it, I just didn't think it compared to the book) but I had pretty much no idea of who Christian Bale was when it came out - I kind of want to rewatch it just for the newfound hilarity of wacky Howl the Bat-Newsie.

I enjoyed the Miyazaki version in that I'd been forewarned that it had some major differences from the book, so I decided to compartmentalise and consider it as an entirely separate piece of entertainment. My heart still belongs to be book, though, yes :)

LOL I was watching Howl's Moving Castle last night! XD I ADORE Calcifer =P and I have a giant unseemly crush on Howl >_>;;

Although now that you point out the similarities, I can't help but wish Bruce Wayne could sprout talons and feathers D:
