BSG 4x01 and 4x02

I have't actually seen most of 4x02 because it finished downloading very late last night and I just skipped through it to find The Pilots Piloticians Scene (I like this development! it's snappier than Pilawyers).

And now that I come to think of it I haven't got a whole lot to say about 4x01 except that it was crazily intense and THERE WAS HUGGING and I feel terrible for Anders and oh hey yes did I mention HUGGING?

So basically what I'm going to do now is deconstruct The Piloticians Scene from 4x02 like the enormous geek-slash-Kara/Lee-fangirl-since-forever that I am. Ideally I would do this from my own laptop and thus provide illustrative caps from this & previous episodes (maybe I'll do that later. maybe.) but I need to spend the rest of the day studying so I'll just zip through this now.

- First off: I was never THAT into Jamie Bamber, but dear GOD, he is so scorching hot in this scene that I just about expired. THE SUIT. He is rocking that suit.

- Kara sitting in the brig with her hands clasped in front, Lee coming to visit her. HI THERE MINISERIES <33

- 'I never really could say no to anything.'
'Except me.'
'Especially you.'
AND HER FACE AHAHJDJHKASJH *FLAILS HUGELY*

- SO SAY WE ALL. And she's figured out that he's saying goodbye but he doesn't know how. OH. Okay, the thing that I liked the most in this whooooole scene was that it's a beautiful parallel of the scene from The Captain's Hand where Lee is leaving to higher and better things, and she sticks her hand out to congratulate him, and then they shake hands, and then they hug.

Except this time they just shake hands and Kara looks so DESPERATE and Lee is wavering everywhere and he LETS GO and turns to leave.

And then -- oh man, I have watched S1 waaaay too many times -- Katee Sackhoff does the little 'fuck it' tilt of the head which she last used when Lee was leaving after telling off Kara in...Kobol's Last Gleaming, I think. Then it was 'Captain' -- and Lee turned around.

Except this time it's 'Lee'. And he turns around.

He kisses her and her hands go up to his face and that's JUST what happened during the 'Scar' kiss, except roles reversed.

And then outmaking.

And then hugging.

'I believe you.'

I mean, that looked an awful lot like a final goodbye, and to be frank I won't be surprised if it is. But man. I couldn't have wished for a better one.

(& okay, I lied, I watched everything in the episode AFTER that scene, because I think I was developing a suit addiction, and I am SO HAPPY about the bit with Dee.)

In conclusion: Adamas break my heart, as ever. Adamas real and adopted and married.

And the rest of the season will feature HELO AND STARBUCK ONNA MISSION and LEE ADAMA & TOM MOTHERFRAKKING ZAREK and probably a whole lot of exciting Cylon stuff that I missed while jumping through 4x02, so really, I am not complaining at all.

Yes Kara's head-tilt! Right before the outmaking! I loooved the part! It's the head-tilt of "Oh who are we kidding, let's just make out already."

I really, really hope it isn't, but...I can deal if it is :D Besides, I don't think either of them will be killed off, which leaves MUCH SCOPE for delicious post-canon fic.
