OH MAN. It's been so long since I've written anything but het that I'd forgotten the main problem with writing slash fic: the FUCKING PRONOUNS.

Also one of my narrators is a sullen little overthinker who encourages me to abuse punctuation and adjectives, and the other pretty much LIVES in italics. My poor, poor fic.
But apparently I -- while still retaining my inability to write, y'know, actual porn -- can now stretch outmaking scenes across 1500-odd words. So, uh. Yay? I feel this is a step in the right direction, even though part of me still finds it vaguely pathetic that I've been writing fanfic for almost five years now (and the first fic I ever read was extremely dark and porny) and there are fourteen-year-old girls who have been in fandom six months and can write far better porn than I can. I mean, I can visualise it and I'm a good writer and I can apparently write very hot things that aren't quite porn, but...
I DON'T KNOW. IT ALL SEEMS SO UNDIGNIFIED. NICE BRITISH GIRLS DON'T TALK ABOUT THAT KIND OF THING.
