HELLO LJ

So! I am in college! Apparently I need to wait until tomorrow, when the IT guy is around, before I can hook my laptop up to the 'net, but in the meantime I am the sole inhabitant of the college computer room. It's SO DESERTED around here, it being pre-term for everyone but us medicos and the girls working reception...there's a group of Chinese students here for a conference and then FOUR USYD STUDENTS including myself, so the kitchen's not doing dinner, but the college is paying for us to get Thai from King Street \o/ (King Street - main road of Newtown, five minute walk from college, enormous amounts of cheap Thai and little shops and a HUGE secondhand bookshop and yes, this'll do nicely, I think :D)

Hilariously, my college room is twice as large as my room at home was. It's MASSIVE. I have ridiculous amounts of cupboard space. The kitchenette is a bit dirty at the moment because the girl in the room opposite seems to be unable to clean up after herself, and she keeps forgetting to unlock my door into our shared bathroom after her showers, but I quickly worked out how to unlock it from the outside with the help of a pair of scissors. So. Everything's going to be fine.

[livejournal.com profile] _leareth is coming over in a couple of hours, and I think in the meantime I'll go browse the college library and watch some more Naruto in my room.

ORIENTATION ON TUESDAY. I AM SO EXCITED. ALSO KIND OF TERRIFIED, BUT WHAT CAN YOU DO.

I am still not sure if I'll use this journal for fannish stuff and move my med school blogging over to [livejournal.com profile] asclepiad, or just post a lot here. Hmm.

Y'know what I also have? A FUTON. Well, apparently it belongs to some other girl, but if it doesn't get taken away then I am adopting it for the year, and if it DOES get taken away then I am probably going to buy my own. Because it's in the perfect spot to collapse and watch stuff on the computer/be folded down into a bed when visitors come to crash overnight.

I've also discovered that I do have to pay for my internet at a rate of 2c/MB. I don't even know how much that will work out at per month. But I bet it means there will be NO EPISODE/MUSIC DOWNLOADING :(

YAY!!!!! *bounces around* Pictures of giant room? They don't charge for upload MB, do they - because that would be even more cruel. The d/l thing is bad enough. :/
