I really have been watching too much of shows like The West Wing and Bones* and Friday Night Lights -- I think I'm having scifi withdrawal. I need new Torchwood and to rewatch some BSG (and then write exhaustive red-blue meta about it, I think) and also to watch the latest SGA episode, because from what I hear it has all sorts of fun opportunities for incredibly dark and creepy John/Elizabeth, and we all know that this is the only way I will ever really buy that pairing. THE CREEPIER THE BETTER.

What else? I'm writing something new which I thought was in one genre and it turned out to be in a different genre entirely, but I resent it for not making this plain from the outset and so am sullenly poking it towards some kind of hybrid monster of the two. I don't know. I don't even know if it's any good, but it's at 2347 words and I don't yet despise it or feel the need to fling it at someone and shriek VALIDATE ME OR I'LL DELETE IT ALL, so I guess that's promising.

*Bones + spaceships = probably my ideal television show? I'd write it only the absolute last thing I need right now is another Bones fic idea. Someone else should write it for me. And by someone else I mean villainny or tellitslant.

It is not, alas :( But it's not going to be very long, so I will return to the Bones fics as soon as it's finished.

New Torchwood in two and a half weeks! Looks SO GOOD! *makes the grabby hands* Also, the latest eps of SGA are made of win and awesome, even if they do mess up the likelihood of Ronon/Teyla ever happening.

That has actually happened to me before, re the fic. Someone asked for crack, the fic started out serious, I was like AAARGH NOOO and then the second half was crack. But it was a Christmas fic so I was in a hurry and it was crap. Kelsey and I agreed that the first half was really good-- although not what the request asked for-- and the second half sucked, or at least in the context of the first half, so I deleted the second half, wrote a new crack fic for Christmas (... I know) and still have the first half of the other fic sitting around as a WiP. My life, so hard.

I only had to do that because the genres were complete polar opposites, though. And because I didn't meld them together properly, it was very clearly first half serious/angst, second half crack. I can't say for sure because I haven't seen it but your probably works fine.

See, I was just thinking about SG:A-Bones. Except it was specifically in the Aegis (http://sgabigbang.talkoncorners.net/?view=fic&id=16)-verse and was deeply involved with the bizarreness of referring to Zach as an empath.
